Job description

Job description We are seeking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic expert with experience in next-generation sequencing data, particularly in single-cell transcriptomics. This is an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team of scientists working on a Wellcome Trust funded programme of research. The post holder will work on projects combining cutting-edge cellular / molecular models, computational approaches and clinical data. The postholder will be part of an interdisciplinary cross-cutting network, working together with research staff / academics, clinicians, and embryologists to support and undertake ground-breaking research involving big data. The post-holder will play a key role in setting up innovative inter-disciplinary strategies to analyse and integrate different -omics data sets, further amalgamating these with phenotypic data. The project will employ state of the art genomics, bioinformatics and applied statistical approaches in discovery research and the identification of functional pathways relevant to reproductive medicine and embryonic development. We are looking for an ambitious candidate with expertise in bioinformatics, dealing with multi-omics datasets and data integration. S/he will have solid programming skills, expert knowledge of scripting languages such as R and / or Python and proficiency in working on high-performance computing clusters. They will contribute to the overall regenerative medicine theme via participation in collaborative projects with scientists and other bioinformaticians in the host lab and the department. There will be further opportunities to interact with the KCL bioinformatics HAB (@HAB_KCL). The post will involve extensive collaboration with other researchers and the candidate will be expected to work as part of a team. The candidate will also be strongly encouraged to develop his / her own projects.   The postholder will report to Principal Investigator Dr. Mahesh Sangrithi (mahesh.sangrithi@kcl.ac.uk).
