University of East London – Research Excellence PhD Studentship (fee waiver) The University of East London (UEL) is seeking highly qualified and motivated students for Research Excellence PhD Studentships (fee waiver) commencing in July or September 2024. The comprehensive Researcher Development Programme (RDP) tailored for postgraduate research students at UEL comprises three key strands: Researcher-Ready: Focuses on essential skills in research design, theory, ethics, and academic writing. Empowering Researchers: Facilitates peer-to-peer mentoring, idea exchange, and community support. Pioneering Researchers: Equips students with employability skills, entrepreneurship, and knowledge exchange for diverse career paths. About the Studentship: Candidates are invited to propose research addressing global challenges and UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in areas such as: AI and disruptive technologies in business management Sustainability Health and economic inequalities International Business Strategy Geopolitical tensions and international trade Security, conflict, and refugee crisis Law, policing, and social justice Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Corporate social responsibility and Green Finance Regional Development and Glocalization Entrepreneurship and innovation Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must hold at least a UK 2:1 honors degree or its equivalent in business, law, or related fields. International candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English (e.g., IELTS 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, within two years of application). How to Apply: Interested candidates should: Submit a 1-page personal statement demonstrating alignment with a specific research topic and potential contributions to the school's research environment. Provide a 1-page CV and a research proposal (not exceeding 1500 words). Include degree certificates, transcripts, and English language proficiency proof (if applicable). Provide details of two referees, with at least one academic referee. Funding: The studentship covers a 3-year period with an annual tuition fee waiver of £16,100 (international students) and £6,020 (home students).
