Job description

We are looking for a pro-active individual with an interest in humanities and social science research to join the Strategic Funding and Impact Team in the Faculty of Humanities. This is a research development team which helps researchers to build collaborative projects for external funding and to make a real-world difference from their research.

The team works across the Faculty of Humanities, which comprises of four Schools. This post will have particular responsibilities for Alliance Manchester Business School, which includes a number of flagship research institutes (Work and Equalities Institute, Manchester Institute of Innovation Research and The Productivity Institute) as well as a critical mass of researchers working on AI and Digital Transformations. The post holder will work alongside the AMBS Research Grant Facilitator and work closely with the AMBS Research Office.

The post of Impact Facilitator is a key role that will directly help the Faculty to develop, plan and implement its research and impact strategy. The post holder will work with academic colleagues to help identify, generate and communicate the impact of their research, build networks, and to develop partnerships with a range of stakeholders. A feature of the role will be to coordinate and support the writing and evidencing of high-quality impact cases for the Faculty in future research assessment exercises. They will have a strong interest in research development and research culture.

The successful candidate will be able to think critically, keep abreast of research and Higher Education policy and offer authoritative advice to researchers at all career stages. They will be able to manage a diverse portfolio of projects and have superb written and oral communication skills.
