Our client, The Follicular Lymphoma Foundation, are are looking for an energic and proactive individual to join their friendly team as a Research Manager.
Their mission is to lead new and determined efforts to find cures for Follicular Lymphoma (FL). To accelerate a transformative change in scientific research that will lead to better treatments and cures for FL patients. As Research Manager you will play a crucial role in advancing their mission.
Your responsibilities will include managing scientific events, contributing to the development of scientific programs, creating scientific summaries and articles, translating scientific goals and progress into simple language, enhancing connections with the FLF patient community through patient programmes and evaluating the impact of FLF funded research programmes. You will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Director of Patient and Clinical Research Programmes, as well as the wider FLF team.
To be successful in this role you will have a strong scientific research background, including:
Essential criteria:
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the cancer or a related field.
- Masters degree and/or PhD in the medical field.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, patients, industry and donors.
- Experience with interpreting findings from research papers and reports to a lay audience.
- Likely to have worked in non-profit sector or medical research sector.
- Experience of working with patient groups.
- An understanding of the research grant funding and peer review process.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand clinical research proposals.
The closing date for applications for this role will be 22nd January 2024 with first stage interviews being held the same week.
This is a full-time role with working hours generally surround 9-5 Monday to Friday. It should be noted that some events will take place over weekends and Bank Holidays when your presence will be required, which will be compensated with time in lieu. FLF give 25 days’ holiday pro-rata, three of which must be taken between Christmas and New Year, plus bank holidays.
