The successful candidates will have experience of supporting vulnerable young people, have a sound knowledge of Children’s Rights, The Promise, GIRFEC, the effects of childhood trauma and have an SVQ Level 3 and HNC or equivalent in Child Care/Social Care or related area, or other relevant qualification at SCQF level 7. (or ACTIVELY working towards). A drivers licence is essential for this post.
You will work with young people of varying ages with different needs, creating a safe, nurturing and trauma Informed environment for them to develop life skills, confidence and independence.
There will also need to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within the first 3 months of employment. This is a legal requirement within the Care sector for individuals to be registered under the relevant category within the six-month timescale of the commencement of employment.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; be adaptable, reliable, and able to work as part of our experienced & supportive team, improving the lives of vulnerable young people.
Some of the duties you will perform:

Supporting young people to attend and engage with education services.
· Supporting young people to participate in the community, have meaningful interactions, positive experiences and develop into confident and responsible adults.
· Being a supportive and knowledgeable source of advice for children and young people at different ages and stages of development
· Supporting with and taking part in activities
· Encouraging and supporting young people with cooking, keeping their home clean and tidy and looking after their own health and wellbeing
· Record keeping in line with GDPR requirements
· Taking part in training for the role
· Working towards continuous improvement in all areas of the role
