Job description

  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the recruitment team to progress campaigns through all stages of the recruitment journey within agreed timeframes;
  • Providing clear and effective leadership to ensure team members understand their roles, are fully engaged and kept informed;
  • Building strong and effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including business representatives and recruitment partners;
  • Working with colleagues and others to continuously review and improve processes, making best use of technology;
  • Using data effectively to update stakeholders, assist with decision making and identify trends and issues for escalation

  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection policy and processes, with experience of supporting the planning and delivering recruitment at pace (Lead Criteria)
  • Ability to forward plan and organise delivery of recruitment against demand
  • Proven leadership capabilities in managing delivery teams; the ability to build strong effective working relationships at all levels
  • Promote a continuous learning environment; actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and team performance.
  • Demonstrates a good working level of using MI/Data tools (ie Microsoft Excel); and can effectively analyse and present data to others.

Location

Hybrid Working

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

As part of the application process you will be asked to complete a CV, personal statement (Max 1000 word) and a online assessment. Further details around what this will entail are listed on the application form.

Selection will be by an online assessment, written sift, followed by a video interview.

After submission of the first stage of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Management Judgement Test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the final stage of the application.

Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 23:55 on 28/01/2024. If you fail to complete the online test before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the test will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.

The written sift will be conducted using evidence from your 1000 word Personal Statement and will be assessed against the essential criteria within the advert.

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the Lead Criteria.

Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. This will be a video interview. The interview panel will be a minimum of two people. The interview will assess; Behaviours, Strengths and Experience. The interview aims to be more of a conversation exploring your capability for the role.

You will be asked to provide a 5-minute presentation on a specific subject, which you will be provided with in your invitation to interview. You will not be allowed to use any supporting documents or slides for this presentation, but you can use prompts or personal notes.

To help you prepare and settle into the interview you will be sent the behaviour questions in advance of the interview, 5 days prior to your interview. These questions should be treated as confidential. The interview panel may ask you other questions which will not be shared in advance, including follow-up questions, and those about your experience, abilities, and strengths
