In this new role, you’ll support the Senior Responsible Business Manager in delivering the Group’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) annual reporting and related communications, with the ultimate aim of sharing progress against our People & Planet Plan whilst achieving compliance with a broad range of reporting requirements. These activities are key to build our reputation as a Responsible Business with stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Get hands on writing key parts our Responsible Business Reporting in a simple and engaging way, with a focus on the Annual Report & Accounts alongside the People & Planet Plan Report

  • Conduct best practice research on reporting and associated communications to ensure our approach remains impactful, compliant and in step with peers – mainly across social matters but spanning environmental too

  • Robustly collate data from stakeholders across the Group to feed the reporting suite - from the data centre, to SASB and more

  • Support and lead on ESG disclosures such as the Workforce Disclosure Initiative, EcoVadis and Sedex

  • Work with Internal Communications, Digital and third parties to deliver related annual reporting People & Planet communication campaigns

  • Lead the development and ongoing management of a new community impact map on centrica.com that’ll enhance our communication of how we support local communities, creating engaging case studies and harnessing data

Work Experience

  • Great written skills

  • Strong research skills

  • A good eye for detail across communications and data

  • An understanding of a broad range of sustainability matters/reporting – with opportunity to grow expertise in role  

  • Commercial know-how

  • Building great relationships

  • Agency/supplier management skills

Competencies

  • Experience of communications and/or ESG reporting

  • Comfortable conducting independent research, analysing findings and creating recommendations 

  • Ability to accurately collect, understand and report data

  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience of working with agencies preferred
