Responsible Person

I'm recruiting a RP on behalf of one of my clients, a pharmaceutical consulting organisation. This is a permanent and remote role with occasional visits to client's sites.

Job overview:

The Responsible Person (RP) plays a pivotal role in upholding regulatory compliance and quality standards for the distribution, storage, and supply of pharmaceutical products within the pharmaceutical consulting company. The RP is responsible for ensuring that all activities related to the handling of medicinal products are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the procurement and supply activities
  • Approve new Suppliers, Customers and Service Providers
  • Ensure that the activities of the Wholesale Distribution Authorisation comply with the guidelines outlined by the HPRA, and with the scope of the WDA.
  • Implement and maintain a robust quality management system for the distribution and supply of pharmaceutical products.
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of appropriate documentation and records to demonstrate compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing compliance and product quality.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and comprehensive records related to distribution and supply chain activities, as required by regulations.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory authorities as mandated.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in pharmacy or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
  • Certification as a Responsible Person or equivalent, depending on local regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of GDP and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
