Full time retail Store Supervisor
The Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to work within a successful textile company based in the West Midlands. The overall purpose of this job is to work closely with the director in order to sustain a high standard within the store. As Store Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the team, you'll be tasked with driving forward turnover and revenues within each department. Keeping a close focus on financial KPIs, together with non-financials such as customer service/feedback, stock management and team compliance.
Responsibilities
· Drive a culture of excellent customer service ensuring all team members engage with customers enthusiastically, establish customer needs and help them to purchase by matching products to those needs. Through the application of a high level of product knowledge whilst highlighting relevant promotions and upselling.
· Lead by example for a customer first approach.
· Confidently and professionally handle customer complaints and difficulties and ensure all colleagues understand the importance of driving customer loyalty. Whilst competently following company procedures and policies.
· Maximising sales and the potential of your teams.
· Implementing our established retail processes whilst looking for ways to improve them.
· Ensure the store team understand all sales and KPI targets and are supported to exceed them whilst identifying and improving performance issues where required.
· Manage stock and inventory whilst also making sure the store is always clean, tidy and well stocked whilst also adhering to Health and Safety Legislation.
· Manage and minimise all controllable costs efficiently and within planned budgets.
· Build strong relationships with store peers to effectively deal with matters concerning stock, layout, promotions, training, development and employee relations.
· Assist with the implementation of all new policies and procedures
· Learn and recognise seasonal trends and make changes to the store to optimise sales and productivity.
· Additionally, you must have excellent communication skills coupled with an organised and proactive approach. The ability to lead and motivate others is the key to success.
· Be able to confidently work well within a team and help mentor, supervise and motivate a small team.
· Be responsible for opening and closing of the store which will include cashing up tills.
Preferred experience
· Solid experience of working in a Store Supervisor position with a track record of building business and attracting local customers.
· Experience of working within a retail environment.
· Knowledge of soft furnishings, sewing or interior design.
· There is a requirement to work flexibly, Saturdays and holidays as necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- You are proficient in the use of MS Office.
