Our HR team operates at the heart of the AJ Bell business - our core purpose is to drive our employee value proposition and the employee experience. Due to continued growth, we're now looking to recruit an experienced Reward Specialist to join us.
Based out of our Manchester office (with hybrid working) this role will support the continued development of AJ Bell's approach to reward for all its employees.
What does the job involve?
It's a hands-on, 'get stuck in’ kind of role and you will be right into the detail of all aspects of our reward offer, including:
- Providing comprehensive internal and external benchmarking of salary data and employee benefits, working in partnership with internal teams and external vendors;
- Monitoring and providing detailed analysis, insights and reports on executive and senior roles pay on a regular basis;
- Maintaining market data and participating in pay and benefits surveys;
- Supporting with job evaluation work;
- Delivering the annual reward calendar activities such as pay review, bonus awards, etc.; and
- Assessing data and preparing reports for the Remuneration Committee and People Committee at regular intervals throughout the company year.
Must haves: knowledge, skills and experience
We're looking for someone who has worked in a dedicated reward role at an adviser/ specialist level. As a minimum, you’ll have a few pay cycles' experience under your belt - meaning you've built up your knowledge and practice. Alternatively, you could have HR experience directly involving reward and you now want to specialise.
The role requires someone who can:
- Carry out job evaluations and create/improve pay structures
- Benchmark pay (fixed and variable) and benefits, ideally including senior/executive roles
- Is highly analytical and numerate
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
- Work proactively and collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including presentation of data
- Use advanced Excel skills and are confident with HRIS systems
Nice to have: knowledge, skills and experience
- A HR or reward qualification
- UK regulated financial services experience
