SalaryThe Rise team are looking for a candidate to join them in communicating their offer to students and enhancing the impact of the Rise programme.
Rise is Man Met's award-winning extended curriculum programme, engaging undergraduate and postgraduate students in a range of activities across the academic year. Working alongside the wider Rise team, you will lead on communicating to students by:
- Writing persuasive descriptions of upcoming Rise events and activities, and editing and enhancing listings written by other members of staff.
- Planning and delivering a communications strategy, including managing and curating the articles page on the website, direct email campaigns and social media in line with the academic calendar.
- Encouraging students and staff to share their Rise stories with others.
- Contributing to the continuing development of the programme, with a particular emphasis on understanding and encouraging student engagement.
The role will give you experience of managing communications for an innovative and exciting project, communicating with a variety of audiences, and working across a small, dynamic team within a large institution. You'll need to work independently on your own projects, and feed this into the work of the wider team, and think strategically about long- and short-term plans.
To be successful in this role you'll be able to:
- Write fluently and persuasively, and create new content at pace.
- Give and receive feedback, and make changes in line with this.
- Use social media, email and other channels to reach new and existing audiences.
- Understand fellow students and their learning journeys.
This role would be a good fit for a recent graduate or for candidates with an interest in communications.
