I am pleased to announce an employment opportunity at a Somerset-based legal firm for the role of Risk and Best Practice Assistant. As the incumbent, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional support to both internal and external stakeholders in the areas of risk and compliance. Working alongside their esteemed Risk and Best Practice team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the firm\'s services remain professional and efficient.
Your new role
As a Risk and Best Practice Assistant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for any enquiries related to department policies and procedures. In the event that the issue requires additional attention, you will ensure that it is escalated to the appropriate department. You will also play a crucial role in managing GDPR data breaches by coordinating with the relevant staff members and providing initial guidance. If the matter is complex, you will collaborate with the Risk and Best Practice Lawyer to resolve it. Additionally, you will carefully review AML enquiries and take the necessary steps to ensure that they are addressed appropriately. Lastly, you will offer guidance on client onboarding procedures, including performing an initial analysis of e-verification search issues and evaluating PEP and Sanctions matches.
What you'll need to succeed
Our esteemed client is currently seeking a candidate with a background in the legal industry, preferably with prior experience in this field. The ideal candidate should showcase exceptional organisational skills and demonstrate proficiency in time management to effectively meet stringent deadlines. Familiarity with risk and compliance topics pertinent to law firms, such as anti-money laundering and data protection, would also be regarded favourably. Additionally, the candidate should possess a collaborative work ethic and actively contribute to their team by fostering positive relationships with colleagues.
