Position Available: Risk Manager

Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid) & dynamic working hours

Salary: £68,000 + 20% Bonus & Very Good Pension Package

Experience needed: Demonstrable experience in a risk management role, ideally with a particular focus in Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, Crisis Management and Supply Chian Risk.

We are currently looking for a Risk Manager to join our Risk Management & Insurance team who are responsible for delivering and promoting risk management across the company's portfolio.

The Risk Management and Insurance department at plays a crucial role in fostering risk management practices and overseeing the company's insurance program. With a multinational team comprising Risk and Insurance Managers in each of our national locations, as well as group roles, this department emphasises collaboration across borders. As a member of this team, you will support the Group Risk Manager in implementing and integrating the risk management strategy and framework throughout the business. Your responsibilities will include offering expert advice to stakeholders at various levels within the organisation, promoting risk and control best practices aligned with strategic objectives, and facilitating risk management training initiatives to cultivate a robust risk-aware culture. Additionally, you will actively engage with stakeholders to advocate for risk management principles and demonstrate their value in achieving organisational goals.

Due to the complexity and uniqueness of the work in our business, we will primarily consider candidates coming from a similar industry as defence e.g., automotive, aerospace, aviation, electronics, energy, oil & gas, robotics, telecommunications, and other complex forms of manufacturing.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience in a risk management role within a complex environment
• Previous experience in designing, developing and/or maintaining risk management policies, frameworks and supporting processes and aligning them to vision and strategic growth
• Experience of the different types of risk management disciplines as follows
  • Enterprise Risk Management
  • Business Continuity Planning
  • Crisis Management
  • Supply Chain Risk
• In the short-term specific support would be required in assisting with Risk Engineering and Contract Risk projects. This is in respect of various construction projects
• There could be an opportunity to also be involved in ad-hoc projects
