Job description

Permanent | Part-time | All-year Round (52 weeks per year)

A new and exciting opportunity has developed at Felsted School for a Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire (SHEF) Advisor and the job holder will be responsible for advising on Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire matters across the school estate. Duties include taking a lead in creating and maintaining a climate in which individuals feel safety has high value, ensuring all stakeholders are clear in their responsibilities, promoting the safety aims and objectives of the school and working in partnership with others to ensure that health and safety is proactively taken into consideration where relevant and at the planning stage of new projects.

This role will be working in an outward facing capacity and it is essential that the successful applicant holds a relevant degree qualification or NEBOSH (or equivalent). Whilst it is desirable to have prior experience working in an environmental management or advisory role, it is essential that you have excellent ICT skills, have a ‘hands-on’ predisposition and are able to build effective working relationships across all areas of the School.

Further information can be found within the job description on our website.

This role is a permanent, part-time position working 50% of a full-time role with the hours of work  predominantly Monday to Friday on a flexible basis, all-year round (52 weeks per year), with some weekend working. The competitive salary for the role reflects the experience expected of a qualified professional within this field.

Benefits include free life assurance and parking; contributory pension scheme (matched at 4%); membership availability to the School’s healthcare scheme (via BUPA); free lunch on full days worked; free hot drinks supplied; annual salary reviews; free use of the Felsted Gym and pool facilities; subsidised on-site Coffee Shop and membership to Felsted Connect; an online multi-platform engagement tool where employees have access to hundreds of exclusive discounts and offers from online and high-street retailers. More information on our rewards package can be found on our website (url removed)/employment-opps/rewards.
