Sales Assistant

Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for two Sales Assistants to join our team based at our new Hope House superstore in Oswestry.
You will join us on a permanent, part-time basis on either:
22.5 hours per week over 7 days
7.5 hours per week on a Saturday
In return, our Sales Assistants will receive an hourly rate of £10.90 per hour.
Here at Hope House Children’s Hospices we are on an exciting journey to increase our annual contribution from our retail business by £300,000 to £1,000,000 a year by 2025, enabling us to reach every child and family who need us and to ensure that nobody faces the death of a child alone.
About the Sales Assistant role:
We are excited to be recruiting to our new flagship superstore in Oswestry town centre. The new Oswestry store will be open this spring at premises on Smithfield Street. The superstore will sell an extensive range of new and pre-loved items donated by supporters who want to help seriously ill local children.

Our Sales Assistant will provide excellent customer service to our incredible supporters who bring us donations of stock and who shop with us. The Sales Assistant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and confident as on occasion, you may be required to act as key holder of the shop.
We are looking for a Sales Assistant who:
Is self-motivated
Uses their initiative to achieve goals
Is able to work in a team with the ability to get on with people from all walks of life
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Well organised and willing to ‘muck in’
Is able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Is numerate with the ability to follow cash handling, recording and banking procedures.
