The Role
You will be responsible for understanding Megaport's solution offerings and the competitive landscape and tasked with identifying new business opportunities. In addition, you will be responsible for creating and implementing territory campaigns with the assistance of the Head of Direct Sales EU Growth Markets.
You will be tasked to liaise with prospective customer contacts for the purpose of identifying new opportunities and selling Megaport’s range of solutions.
The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy selling, are achievement-oriented and believe in performance rewards for exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals. The ideal candidate is success-driven, fast-paced, and works well in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic and changing environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
- Understand customer needs and requirements.
- Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.
- Secure appointments with prospective customers.
- Utilise a range of sales tools to identify appropriate contacts within targeted organisations.
- Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest in Megaport’s solutions.
- Utilise social media channels to broaden your profile, research target contacts and engage with prospective customers.
- Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory.
- Present online demos of Megaport’s leading-edge portal to prospects.
- Manage and report pipeline activities to senior management.
- Research current business drivers, strategic objectives, internal investment areas and key stakeholders to create campaign strategies.
- Use the information gathered on target markets, potential clients and the most favourable business models, and partner with the sales management and marketing teams to define the most effective strategies to penetrate markets effectively.
