Job description

A leading contract manufacturer is seeking a highly motivated Electronics Sales Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position is ideal for someone looking to advance their engineering career while tackling a diverse range of daily challenges. The company's innovative system quickly scans the internet for pricing, allowing the team to focus on addressing specific customer queries. The ideal candidate will have electronic engineering experience and be able to communicate effectively with customers' engineers to resolve queries efficiently. Although the company provides on-the-job training and support, prior experience is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating with internal engineers and customers on BoM/data queries, providing and gaining approval for alternatives. Preparing BoM/data using the MES system for internal engineering sign-off. Estimating material and labor costs for RFQs using automated electronic quoting software. Managing quotes using the ERP system to ensure they are ready for sales sign-off. Maintaining accurate and daily updates on customer, company, and opportunity/prospect logs. Attending and contributing to customer meetings as needed. Handling inbound inquiries via email and phone promptly and professionally. Performing administrative tasks and any other relevant roles to support the department. Obtaining competitive and accurate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Success in this role will be measured by:
Collaborating with Sales and Operations to develop detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, in a timely manner. Identifying and proposing cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities. Reviewing and analyzing bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and competitiveness. Ensuring timely follow-up on provided quotes and gathering feedback on non-accepted quotes. Coordinating with Despatch and Production to manage order stages and amendments, ensuring customer expectations are met without causing inefficiencies. Ensuring all RFQs and Sales Orders are loaded and/or acknowledged within 24 hours, ideally on the same day. Qualifications and experience required:
Minimum of an HND in an Engineering discipline. Understanding of engineering concepts, electronic components/PCB manufacturing methods, and technical drawings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Sales experience is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with CRM/ERP/MES systems is advantageous.
