Sales Executive

Sales Person

Based at the Dole Southampton Wholesale Fruit Market.

Basic Function:

Reporting to the Branch Manager / Department Manager, the Sales Person will undertake day to day procurement and sales of fresh produce within an existing client base and further develop profitable business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To establish, maintain and develop relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• To identify and develop new sales opportunities.
• To maximize sales and profit margins.
• Regular involvement in stock controls
• To work closely with the Department Manager to develop opportunities within the region.
• Ensure the best customer service is being delivered at all times.
• To assist to pick / assemble specific customers' orders when applicable (average weight of a package 10 kilos).

Internal Relationships:

• Liaison with sales, procurement and operations employees at the warehouse depot.
• Liaison with group H&S and technical teams.
• Co-ordination with Dept Managers /Branch Manager

External Relationships:

• Close working relationships are to be developed with existing and new customers
• Close working relationships are to be developed with key suppliers

Ideal Person Specification

Qualifications:

• IT literate
• Driving License
• GSCE's, higher level education with certificates/diplomas

Skills:

• Commercial industry knowledge
• Customer focussed
• Profit orientated, cost conscious.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong influencing skills
• Performance Management focus

Experience:

• Successful track record within a fast moving wholesale or retail environment ideally with fresh produce experience

Hours: 42.5 hours per week: 5 days per week (2am - early starts)
