Job description

LOCALiQ is a leading player in the local media and digital marketing space. comprehensive suite of advertising solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Media Sales Manager to join the team in Greenock on a hybrid basis, with a working knowledge of the digital marketing landscape to lead our sales team in delivering targeted and effective marketing solutions to our clients.

As the LOCALiQ Media Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through our highly sought-after titles such as the Greenock Telegraph, Largs and Millport Weekly News, and the Ardrossan Herald. You will have the responsibility of overseeing a team of dedicated sales professionals and ensuring the successful implementation of LOCALiQ's marketing solutions. Your responsibilities will include improving the skills of your team through regular coaching and structured 121s to ensure the achievement of targets and developing sales strategies through innovation and creative ideas to achieve maximum impact for our clients.

A thorough comprehension of digital advertising and its advantages is essential for excelling in this position. Understanding how digital advertising channels work, their impact on target audiences, and their effectiveness in achieving marketing objectives is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of LOCALiQ media sales professionals to accelerate our digital transformation.
  • Provide coaching and support to help team members achieve individual and team sales targets across our portfolio of newspapers, magazines and digital solutions.
  • Hold regular, structured 121s, setting SMART goals for continued development and improvement.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and digitally-focused team culture.
  • Keep up-to-date with the digital landscape.
  • Has a growth mindset, continually striving to develop their knowledge and skills.

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Analyse local market trends, customer needs and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Excellence team to align sales efforts with LOCALiQ culture.
  • Use data analysis to develop and execute targeted sales strategies aligned with the comprehensive offerings of LOCALiQ

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, advertisers, and media agencies.
  • Understand the unique advertising needs of local clients and tailor LOCALiQ solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.

Revenue Growth:

  • Drive sales team’s revenue growth, using data to identify opportunities for growing existing customer spend, developing strategies to win back lapsed customers and attracting new business.
  • Support the sales team to develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and lead generation.

Performance Analytics:

  • Utilize data and analytics tools to track and measure the performance of LOCALiQ campaigns.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Implement adjustments to strategies based on performance metrics and market feedback.
