Job description

Are you an Automotive Sales Manager or Sales Controller looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our BMW dealership in Melksham, so we would love to hear from candidates looking for a step up in their career!

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dick Lovett as a manger and organise, direct and control the Sales Operation. We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to grow retail sales volumes and achieve targets in conjunction with the General Sales Manager. Working with our General Sales Managers and wider dealership team, the main responsibilities of this role are:

  • To develop and implement new ideas relating sales growth including Local Business.
  • To supervise and co-ordinate the activities of the sales staff to ensure maximum direct selling time, customer satisfaction requirements and enquiry management.
  • Create, agree and implement sales merchandising, advertising and sales promotion with the sales department in line with the sale department plans and budgets in conjunction with the Marketing Executive and General Sales Manager.
  • To build and improve the awareness of customer satisfaction to maximise scores.
  • To oversee the showroom to ensure it is welcoming and showcases the BMW Model range.
  • Take part in the Manager’s weekly rota and be the acting Manager on allocated Saturday’s.

Ultimately, we are looking for an individual who is looking to match our ambition by driving out the best possible new car performance. We will give you great training and support in all of these areas, but you will need a good level of decision making and negotiation skills.

We are looking for a team player who has experience in leading a sales team and ensuring we have a great selection of stock, through proactive sourcing and utilising their experience of the market.

We believe in our leadership and training, allowing us to recruit for attitude and train for skill. The essential criteria for this role are:

  • Experience of working in Automotive Sales with experience of leading a team
  • Ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Open approach to stock acquisition through varying channels
  • High level of determination to succeed and make a difference to the department and its results
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Previous experience in a sales management role within the motor industry is essential – prestigious brand experience would also be advantageous. You will be able to effectively motivate and manage a team as well as be able to demonstrate excellent prioritisation and time management skills. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will be professional and confident in both their approach and appearance.

This is an FCA regulated role which is subject to Fit & Proper Checks.
