At Labcorp in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire , we are looking to recruit a Sample Handling Assistant to join our Toxicology Study Coordination team.
In this role you will be supporting the study direction department with sample management, inventory and administrative tasks as well as regular upkeep of frozen storage areas.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in sample management working with biological samples, however we also welcome applicants with an interest in science who are driven, organized and have a desire to succeed.
Main Duties:
- Performs any combination of sample management and/or archive tasks, including labelling, receipt, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping, and disposal of samples and/or materials
- Sample handling
- Maintenance and upkeep of storage units
- Accurate protocol and relevant documentation interpretation (i.e., Sample Analysis Outline, client paperwork)
- Document and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel and leads problem solving. Submits audit responses to QAU inspections as needed
- Lead or participates process improvement initiatives
- Ensures company procedures are followed in relation to security and access to relevant areas and data or sample integrity

All training will be provided however the successful candidate will have the following skills and/or experience:
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with I.T systems and packages such as Microsoft
- Proven work experience in sample management or coordination of clinical and biological samples advantageous
