SAS Data Analyst - Retail Banking

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of our on-going global expansion strategy, Capco is growing its UK Data Practice in our London office. We are currently looking to recruit a SAS Data Analyst, preferably with experience working in a Retail Banking environment.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of utilizing SAS tools to extract, analyze and interpret complex data sets. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing and implementing analytical solutions, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Extraction and Cleaning:
    Utilize SAS programming skills to extract, clean and manipulate large and complex datasets from diverse sources within the Retail Banking space.
  • Risk Modelling:
    Design, develop and implement risk models using SAS tools to assess and quantify various risks across areas such as credit risk, market risk and operational risk.
  • Statistical Analysis and Reporting:
    Conduct statistical analyses and generate reports that communicate key insights and findings to stakeholders. Collaborate with business partners to understand their analytical needs whilst providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Model Validation and Documentation:
    Perform thorough validation of risk models, ensuring accuracy, reliability and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, finance and IT to understand business requirements and contribute to the development of effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay current with advancements in SAS tools, statistical modelling techniques and industry trends to continuously enhance analytical capabilities.

Professional experience is important. But it’s paramount you share our belief in disruptive innovation that puts clients ahead in a tough market. From Day One, your key skill will be to perceive new and better ways of doing things to give your clients an unfair advantage.

The applicant should:

  • Have extensive experience working as a SAS Data Analyst in the Retail Banking sector, with a focus on risk modelling.
  • Proficiency in SAS programming and data manipulation.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Have a real passion for data and a commitment to shift the industry towards forward thinking data analytics
  • Be keen to join the team to develop the UK Data Practice capabilities and the broader Global Data Practice to support industry changing topics such as Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • Use business judgment & analytical tools in driving the best results for the business unit. Achieved through a combination of using data, analysis, brainstorming sessions and business judgment in identifying leading new opportunities and establishing oneself as the Subject matter authority in own field of expertise.
  • Enhance the existing advance analytics modelling, methodologies and contributing to new idea in methodology and modelling, machine learning algorithms and report visualization
  • Desirable prior experience working as a Management Consultant.
