Brief Description
Your Role:
As a Scheme Project Manager, you will be a key player in the Track, Switches & Crossing and Signalling programme delivery team within our Technical Authority's Central Projects Team function. In this role, you will support Network Rail’s delivery of Higher Speed S&C for HS2, a new contract for Data Loggers to support the routes and a number of new CP7 project including the development of a new composite bearer for S&C to replace the use of wooden sleepers ensuring that we make a difference by realising benefits that help our front-line staff and our passengers.
The programme work delivered by the team includes scoping, planning, contracting, cost forecasting, reporting, stakeholder engagement, ensuring cost control, and identifying and mitigating risk.

What Your Average Day Looks Like:
In your role as a Scheme Project Manager, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
✅ Full ownership and delivery of business change projects. ✅ Ensuring safe, sustainable, and environmentally responsible project delivery within specified timelines, budgets, and quality standards. ✅ Managing internal and external partner relationships to achieve project objectives and realise benefits. ✅ Adhering to corporate and industry governance, handling changes and risks optimally. ✅ Efficiently managing project budgets and forecasting. ✅ Providing a professional, consistent, and effective project management service, using performance indicators and reporting tools.
Skills and Experience We Value:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience:
✔️ Relevant project management experience. ✔️ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. ✔️ Knowledge of project safety management and safety, quality, and environmental procedures. ✔️ Familiarity with commercial and financial procedures. ✔️ Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management or another professional body.

- Location: Based at The Quadrant: MK. For roles based in the Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75/90 minutes of The Quadrant.

- Band & Salary: 4B, £32,740 - £36,832 per annum (Depending on Experience)
