JOB TITLE: School secretary / administrator
JOB LOCATION: just outside Wisbech
JOB TYPE: temporary to permanent
JOB SALARY: £23000
JOB HOURS: 8am - 4pm with 1 hour for lunch, Monday to Friday
JOB HOLIDAYS: The role is based on a 46 week contract so therefore you will have 6 weeks (30 days) holiday per year
JOB NOTES: This job is 100% based in the school, there is no working from home
Your new company
Our client is an independant school for boys and girls aged 12 to 18 and they specialise in supporting and educating students who have SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs. The school is designed to provide a safe and relaxing environment to help students through GCSEs and A Levels in a range of subjects and they are very passionate about the level of pastoral care that they offer students too.
The current administrator is moving on to a new adventure and so we\'re looking to recruit someone ASAP (ideally temp to perm) so there\'s as much of a handover with her as possible.
Your new role
Your job will include
- Opening and closing the school gates each day
- Answering the phones and dealing with visitors to site
- Student registration in the morning and after lunch
- Managing petty cash: keeping secure, issuing payments, reporting on spend
- PA support to the Head Teacher: diary management, booking meetings, dealing with correspondence, assisting the preparing reports for head office, OFSTED etc
- Frequent interaction with students, parents and a wide range of stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
We do need to see previous admin experience, strong Word and Excel skills and excellent interpersonal skills. This is the kind of job that requires you to be proactive and ready & able to change priorities when the need arises and you\'ll be a compassionate and professional individual.
