SALARY: £41,600 FTE / £35,200 Approx Actual Salary (based on £20 per hour for 40 hours per week, 44 weeks a year) + Benefits

LOCATION: General work location will be Stanmore, Middlesex with regular travel to all London school sites as required

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week, 44 weeks per year - A flexible approach to working, sufficient to be able to work a 5/7 days per week arrangement, and where required, evenings and weekends, and able to work at any location/catering location, as reasonably requested

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a School CateringBusiness Manager with experience of managing a team in a multi-site, high volume Catering environment, and proven ability to monitor performance, train, develop and motivate staff.

As the School CateringBusiness Manager you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day catering operational practices for multiple school sites.

Working as the School CateringBusiness Manager you will work autonomously at all school sites. You will support and deputise for the Operations Director delivering strategic objectives that include the planning and high execution of catering services.

DUTIES

Your role as School CateringBusiness Manager will include:

•Manage direct reports to ensure staff resources are used efficiently and in line with set budgets

•On a weekly/monthly basis, review and authorise Timesheets for payroll

•Manage, motivate and develop team members, setting and managing performance frameworks in accordance with their role, operational and personal development needs

•Manage staff issues sensitively and confidentially, including recruitment and selection, performance, sickness and attendance in line with policies and procedures

•Ensure training requirements are undertaken to meet legal obligations, including safeguarding, food safety and service standards

•Lead regular team meetings to communicate and develop positive working relationships between all areas of the business

•Ensure food orders, production and events are managed to maintain adequate service levels within budget targets

•Coordinate logistics, including equipment, transportation, and venue setup

•Manage portion control and wastage at all events in accordance with guidelines

•Oversee the execution of events, ensuring smooth operations

•Ensure stock control/taking is conducted monthly at each site in accordance with guidelines

•Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality and service

•Conduct evaluations to identify and implement areas for service improvement

•Inform Premises managers of defects, repairs and maintenance issues at all sites

•Create and update School Catering menus in collaboration with Chef Managers

•Proactively research food trends, new products, service styles and industry best practices

•Build and maintain positive relationships with clients

•Communicate effectively to understand and meet client expectations

•Address and resolve client concerns or issues promptly

•Develop and manage budgets for catering events, ensuring profitability

•Negotiate with vendors to secure cost-effective services and products

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

•Evidenced experience is a similar role in a multi-site organisation

•Previous experience of managing a team in a multi-site, high volume Catering environment with proven ability to monitor performance, train, develop and motivate team members

•Ability to adapt to changing business environments

•Knowledge of food intolerances, diet regimes and allergies
