£11.59 an hour, 5:30am to 7:30am daily, 10 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The post is all-year round, including school holidays, but you are entitled to annual leave days. During school holidays you can work your hours in one block, instead of coming in 2 hours daily.

JOB PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Site Manager (or other nominated supervisor) to undertake individually, or as part of a team, the cleaning of school premises to the defined standard and quality.
MAIN DUTIES
· To carry out cleaning tasks set out in the school’s cleaning schedule.
· To use all cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with any instructions and specifications provided.
· To report the breakdown of any cleaning equipment or any perceived hazards in the workplace to the Site Manager.
· To observe health and safety and security requirements.
· To complete any appropriate records or documentation required by the Headteacher.
· To maintain good working relationships with other school staff and to co-operate with reasonable changes to daily work routines, to assist the smooth operation of the school.
· To ensure that work undertaken complies with stated requirements.
JOB CONTEXT
The post-holder will undertake general cleaning duties to provide a clean, hygienic and safe environment for teaching and other school activities.
SUPERVISION
The post-holder will be expected to work with limited supervision to an established work pattern. Variations in work requirements or allocation will be determined by the Headteacher/Site Manager/Business Leader.
PROBLEMS AND DECISIONS
The post-holder is expected to report any problems involving cleaning materials, equipment breakdown, health and safety matters or suchlike to the Headteacher/Site Manager/Business Leader.
CONTACTS
Regular contact with the Headteacher, Site Manager, Business Leader and other cleaning staff regarding cleaning duties. General contact with other school staff.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
No formal qualifications or previous experience is required. Training in basic cleaning methods and the use of associated materials and equipment will be provided.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
In addition to the cleaning tasks, some lifting is required which may include the movement of cleaning equipment and school furniture.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The cleaning duties will be undertaken indoors on school premises, which includes toilets.
EQUIPMENT
Cleaning equipment, e.g. buffing machine and chemicals will be used regularly to undertake duties. Training will be provided.
GENERAL

SPECIAL NOTES ON CONDITIONS
Protective clothing will be provided and must be worn at all times.
CLEANING SCHEDULE
1.DAY TO DAY CLEANING
You are required to work flexibly. Typical duties within the time available will include:
Cleaning toilets
Sweeping rooms
Vacuuming carpeted areas
Emptying bins
Polishing or buffing floors as required
Dusting window ledges, skirting, shelves and worktops as required
Washing desk tops, sinks and drainers
Cleaning doors and door glass
Polishing furniture weekly as required
The Headteacher/Site Manager may occasionally require other cleaning.
2.IN ADDITION, DURING HOLIDAY PERIODS
Stripping floors and re-polishing (rolling programme)
Deep cleaning and high dusting
Wall washing
The Headteacher/Site Manager may occasionally require other cleaning.
The school is committed to safeguarding children and young people, and all staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Some roles may need to comply with the Childcare Act 2006, and the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2018 where additional disclosure of information will be required.
