In this role, you will have the chance to showcase your culinary skills and creativity by preparing delicious and nutritious meals for the students and staff. With a focus on providing well-balanced meals that cater to a range of dietary requirements, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone at the school is well-nourished and ready to tackle the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with the school's menu and guidelines.
- Ensure that all meals are of high quality, tasty, and visually appealing.
- Monitor portion sizes and ensure they meet the nutritional needs of the students.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus, order supplies, and manage inventory.
- Engage with students and staff, promoting healthy eating habits and a positive dining experience.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar role, whether as a School Cook, Assistant Cook, or Kitchen Staff.
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
- A passion for cooking and a good knowledge of different cooking techniques.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour, with a passion for engaging with children.
This is a temporary position, starting from April 15, 2024, with working hours from 8 am to 2 pm. The rate of pay for this role ranges from £12.00 to £13.00 per hour.
