Starting Salary: £35,745 progressing to a maximum of £39,186 pa (pro rata for part-time)

Job Duties:
Safe Space is unique in that we are a traded service providing therapeutic support and promote emotional heath to Hertfordshire’s Children and Young People (aged 4-19) in school and college settings. Our Safe Space team has supported the young people of Hertfordshire for over 20 years.
ur counselling service enables children and young people to develop resilience to help them cope with the difficulties they face.
As part of a team of 25 Counsellors and Senior counsellors you will work alongside schools and other health professional supporting up to 10 - 20 clients per week with each session typically lasting approx. 50 minutes. You would be autonomous on how you plan your work and clients each day.
The sessions will take place in either school or college settings across the county whereby you will provide confidential counselling/therapy for children and young people who have been referred to our Safe Space service using a variety of tools to assist engagement and outcomes.
In a highly supportive team where you alongside your formal management 1:1s you will have access to clinical group and individual clinical supervisions
Safe Space is a county-wide service which may mean you will be required to travel to different locations depending on the needs of the service.
Below we have set out our essential & desirable criteria:
Essential:
- Diploma level and BACP member (or equivalent body)
- Experience of how to manage safeguarding concerns
- Driving licence with access to a car
Desirable:
- Experience of delivering therapy to children and young people is essential and Play Therapy skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of professionals and school staff in order to take a holistic approach to working with children/young people.
- Manage a clinical caseload within BACP or equivalent ethical framework.
- Maintain accurate case records on each child/young person using the Early Help Module (EHM) online system in accordance with Data Protection Act / GDPR.
