Randstad is working with a client school in Swanley, Kent who is looking to appoint a school HR Officer. The role is due to start in April 2024.
THE JOB
- The HR Officer is responsible for providing generalist HR support to the HR Manager, other heads of department and school employees.
- To support the HR Manager with recruitment, induction, absence, and health issues and other HR & office management matters.
- The role's primary objective is to ensure that the service provided is professional and efficient whilst remaining in with the Schools core values and long-term objectives.
THE SCHOOL
- Is a residential and day school for pupils aged 8-19 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties and other complex needs including autism and language difficulties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Payroll administration experience within a HR role based in a school environment
- Experience of giving first level advice on policy and procedures
- Strong payroll experience duties
- First point of contact for communication between school and payroll provider
- Dealing with pay-related enquiries
- Recruitment and on-boarding processes
- Sickness absence and monitoring
- Provision of workforce information and reports
- HR systems administration and implementation

The ideal person for the role will have
- HR & Payroll Experience of working in a school setting - this is an essential requirement
- CIPD Level 3 or two years qualified by work experience
- DBS clearance on the DBS update service (Randstad can support you in processing this)
- Strong communicator
- Quick learner
- Able to multi-task
