Emanuel School seeks a personable and professional nurse to join our dynamic team and provide high-quality medical and first aid care to our community of pupils and staff.
From supporting the safe and effective management of sports injuries, to assisting with the organisation of vaccinations, the role is varied and a vital one in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our school community. Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining and updating medical records and supporting the administrative functions of the medical department.
We welcome applications from well-qualified individuals holding a degree in nursing or an RGN, accompanied by current NMC registration. Your extensive knowledge and approachable demeanour will be instrumental in fostering effective communication and building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
This is a full-time position constituting 40 hours per week during term time (35 weeks), with working hours to be agreed, plus three weeks during school holiday periods. The ability to work some Saturdays as part of the weekly hours during the autumn and spring terms would be advantageous.
Working at Emanuel
Colleagues enjoy working at Emanuel and, like the pupils, are ambitious for the school, delivering a challenging curriculum and an exciting co-curricular programme.
There’s a strong sense of community and friendship amongst our staff. An open dialogue about the school’s aims and direction of travel is maintained with a weekly pre-school briefing, half-termly staff meetings, termly consultative group meetings and a dynamic common room committee.
Emanuel works hard to look after its employees, who all benefit from good pension provision and free lunches. Our appraisal scheme focuses on professional development and we sponsor postgraduate courses and a range of training opportunities. Staff wellbeing is extremely important to us: a healthcare plan via Simply Health that includes counselling and medical support is offered to all staff; staff yoga, football and mindfulness meditation are amongst the weekly activities colleagues can participate in.
