SalaryTTM Healthcare are currently recruiting a School Nurse on behalf of an Intellectual Disabilities Service based in Galway . This is a permanent contract working 30 hours per week. The Role:
* Provide for the nursing care of the pupils within the Special School.
* Responsibility for administrative tasks within the Special School and on behalf of the service Core HR, accident/incident reporting, log reports, staff issues, financial requirements and any other administrative tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of Client Services.
* provide nursing care during seizures
* Set up Peg feeds
* Monitor kardex and liaise with pharmacies
* Be aware of the school vaccination programs
* liaise with HSE MDT and other agencies
* Carry out observations for CAHMS
* Provide first aid
* Help out with medical and other needs as they arise
Essential Criteria:
* Possession of a nursing or recognised nursing qualification e.g. R.N.I.D., R.G.N, S.R.N., R.P.N., including current registration with An Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann.
* Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability.
* Full current driving license with access to your own vehicle is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team or on one's own initiative.
