School Receptionist

Your new role
We are looking to appoint an interim School Receptionist for one of our schools based in the Blackpool area. This is a full-time, term-time only position and expected hours are 8am - 4pm. As a School Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors, phone calls, and enquiries. You will greet everyone with a smile and provide them with the information and assistance they need. You will also perform various administrative tasks including;

• Answering phone calls, taking messages and providing information to callers.
• Greeting visitors, checking their identification or DBS checks, issuing visitor badges, and directing them to the appropriate person or place.
• Managing the school diary, booking appointments, arranging meetings, and sending reminders.
• Updating and maintaining pupil and attendance records, databases, and files using computer applications such as Microsoft Office and SIMS.
• Ordering and stocking supplies, equipment, and stationery.
• Coordinating with other staff, parents, pupils and outside agencies as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a receptionist, administrator or customer service role, ideally within an educational setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
• Knowledge of SIMS or other school management systems (desirable but not essential)
• A friendly, professional, and helpful attitude
• A high level of confidentiality and discretion
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
