School Caretaker

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (flexible hours may be required)

We are currently seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the school premises, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all students and staff. This role is vital in the smooth running of the school and requires a proactive and hands-on approach.

Day-to-day of the role:
Conduct regular inspections of the school premises to identify maintenance needs.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
Ensure the security of the school buildings by managing access points and key distribution.
Assist with the setup and clearing of school events and functions.
Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds and sports fields, to ensure they are safe and tidy.
Manage cleaning staff or undertake cleaning duties as required to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Liaise with external contractors for major repair works and oversee their activities on-site.
Respond to emergency situations promptly to resolve issues and minimise disruption.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in caretaking or facilities maintenance.
Basic knowledge of repair and maintenance tasks.
Good physical condition to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Awareness of health and safety regulations.
Flexibility to attend to out-of-hours emergencies or events.
