Job description

As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for people to join our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team (Widening Participation) as a Schools Outreach Officer.  The Role  This new role is an excellent opportunity to work in a sector-leading Higher Education organisation with a real commitment to widening participation and it is ideal for candidates who are particularly interested in developing new initiatives within the widening participation sphere. The Schools Outreach Officer will be responsible for implementing the University’s Widening Access work. You will also be: Establishing and managing relationships with schools and colleges and deliver outreach activities to prospective students both in schools and on our campuses. Your objectives will align with our Access and Participation Plan which is to work with students who are least likely to attend higher education. Contributing to the design and delivery of programmes that aim to raise pre-16 attainment and future university enrolment Contributing to other Widening Participation initiatives and activities such as working collaboratively with third sector organisations and supporting our Domestic Student Recruitment team Collecting and processing data and evaluation material will also form part of your role.  You The successful candidate will be able to develop effective relationships with people and able to use initiative and priortise their own workload. We are also looking for candidates with: Experience of designing and delivering presentations and workshops The ability to deliver presentations interactively to engage a range of different audiences Experience in providing information, advice, or guidance Competence using Microsoft Office Please note: This is a hybrid role including homeworking, based at our Birmingham campus.
