Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of Science for a full time, permanent role within a large Secondary school in Portsmouth.
The school is located within the north of Portsmouth and have a track record of continuous improvement in GCSE exam results. You will be the Teacher of Science, implementing and delivering an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning for which the teacher is accountable. You will excel in the classroom and be collaborative in supporting your departmental colleagues to be the best they can be, in the classroom and beyond, and be involved in mentoring, coaching, professional development and challenge.
The ideal candidate will be an ambitious classroom practitioner with a desire to achieve strong outcomes, and need someone who wants to become a beacon of excellent practice in a classroom environment, whilst posing the muscularity of intellect and professional credibility to drive up standards in the classroom for all our young people.
The role is set to start April 2024, and will be a full time, permanent teaching role. The salary for this role is currently set between £30,000 to £43565 per annum (TBC).
For this role, you will be/will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status, and degree in science or equivalent
- Detailed knowledge of subject and ability to teach up to GCSE level
- Confident classroom management, and use of IT to support teaching
- Able to motivate and encourage students, and use of strategies for raising achievement and achieving excellence
