Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Officer to provide day-to-day care and welfare monitoring for mice housed in a medical experimental facility whilst working alongside the research groups to support their work.
You will provide technical support across a wide range of in vivo Oncology models in accordance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. You should have a HNC in Animal Technology or equivalent relevant experience and be the holder of a current or previous Personal Licence (PIL A, B & C) under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, as well as having significant experience in the field of animal technology.
You should have experience specifically around Oncology research and you will have a proven ability to carry out routine tasks and procedures under minimum supervision. You will have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills and a thorough understanding of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. Self-motivation is essential, as is accuracy/attention to detail. You will be computer literate and competent in using Office 365 software and be able to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team - able to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of the out-of-hours rota.
