You will have the opportunity to work closely with Senior Officials, and Ministerial Private Offices. This is a busy and varied role in the Senior Leadership Executive Support Team. You will be part of a small team of three comprising a Business Manager, Executive Support Officer and Diary Support Officer.
You will as Scotland Office Director's Support Officer provide a pivotal role through management of diaries, administration and logistical support; playing a vital role in supporting the Director and Policy Deputy Director’s schedules; and managing communication channels with the wider UK Government and external stakeholders.
As this is a Modern Apprenticeship, throughout the first 12 months the successful candidate will be expected to gain a relevant SVQ qualification in Business Administration. Support will be provided by a qualified assessor who will work with the successful candidate on a monthly basis. Time will be given to work on your qualification, this includes delivering 2 presentations.
- Day to day management of the Directors diary, including setting up regular internal meetings, meetings with Stakeholders and liaising with other offices across Whitehall on UKGG meetings and other cross government meetings.
- Provide Diary support to the Policy Deputy Director.
- Commission briefing from policy officials for the Directors meetings, ensure it is fit for purpose and the Director is sighted on other relevant issues.
- Co-ordinate and respond to all invitations for the Director. Liaise with organisers on arrangements.
- Arrange all travel for the Director and Deputy Policy Director.
- Maintain the Gifts and Hospitality register for Senior Leaders and complete the quarterly senior official’s transparency return for Gov.uk.

This post will be based at Queen Elizabeth House, Edinburgh. In line with our current way of working, our team follows a hybrid working approach, where colleagues use a mix of office based and remote working (working from home) depending on the requirements of the role and personal circumstances.
