Job Title: Support Worker- Separated Children Seeking Asylum
Terms: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days
Job Purpose: To help care experienced young people to have a good life.
This specific role will involve supporting separated children seeking asylum in Cornwall. This will include supporting and integrating young people into their community, accommodation and appropriate education and training.

Main Tasks:
· To support a caseload of up to 15 separated children seeking asylum, primarily aged 16-17 who may be housed closed together. Some work with under 16s may be required.
· To welcome young people from their current location and support their asylum claim.
· To build warm, positive relationships and help young people integrate and meet peers.
· To work proactively and collaboratively to ensure all young people are safeguarded and take the initiative in resolving any issues that may arise with young people.
· To provide housing related support. Supporting visits to the Home office in varied locations and facilitating access to legal advice.
· To specifically support young people to access appropriate education and health services.
· To actively plan, prepare and participate in all meetings and events that are related to the support of the young people.
· To develop and maintain excellent communication with all members of the team and external partners and supporters.
· To carry out all administrative work required as part of the role.

Post:Support Worker- Separated Children Seeking Asylum
Salary: £26,083 - £28,155 per annum (pro rata for part time roles), depending on qualifications and experience. Pension contributions matched at up to 6% of salary.
Contract: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days
Expenses: All agreed expenses incurred in carrying out the work will be reimbursed. Mileage over and above your regular commute, can be claimed at 45p per mile.
Notice period: Two monthson either side.
Location: Ideally based at Chy Trevail, Bodmin (however could be based at Carefree, Clinton Passage Redruth for the right candidate), with visits taking place at accommodation and Home Office locations across Cornwall.
All workers are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.
