Right Now Group are looking for an experienced Sea Freight Import Clerk to join our client who are a Global Freight Forwarder based in Tamworth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the imports of goods via Sea freight, ensuring efficient and timely transportation while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. The Seafreight Import Clerk will work closely with clients, carriers and internal teams to facilitate the smooth execution of export operations.
Responsibilities of a Sea freight Import Clerk:
- prepare and process all documentation required for the exportation of goods, including shipping instructions, bills of lading, export declarations, and other relevant paperwork.
- Coordinate with clients, carriers and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate booking of cargo space on vessels, considering factors such as shipping schedules, transit times and cost-effectiveness.
- liaise with customs authorities and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all export regulations, including tariff classification, export controls and licensing requirements.
- arrange for the pickup, consolidation and packing of import cargo, coordinating with warehouse personnel and external vendors as needed.
- ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing of export shipments, verifying charges and fees against contractual agreements and customer expectations.
The Successful Sea Freight Import Clerk:
- Minimum 2 Year's experience in Sea Freight Importss.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures by Sea.
- problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Great customer service skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of incoterms and international regulations.
