Security Officer

Exciting security opportunity in the historic city of York with Securitas! We're seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team, working 42 hours a week on a 4 on 4 off day shift rotation.

As a Security Officer, your strong customer service skills contribute to a positive and secure environment. Physically fit for patrolling purposes, you play an active role in maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of York. Your ability to defuse and respond to incidents showcases your commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.

Your excellent communication skills are pivotal in conveying information effectively. Working seamlessly in a team, you contribute to the overall efficiency of our security operations.

About the Role

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to the site.
• Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols.
• Maintain all logbooks and records, ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conduct effective handover procedures.
• Provide visitors with a positive experience.
• Excellent customer service when dealing with tenants and member of public
• Internal and external patrolling, including locking and unlocking of the premises
• Dealing with various emergency situations, including report writing and communicating with emergency services
• Key control
• Efficient reporting of loss, stolen and or vandalised equipment and/or property
• Health & Safety Observation Checks
• Ensuring the Safety of Employees and Customers. Deter and apprehend shoplifters at various retail locations.
• Provide Customer Service when Necessary.
• Handle Crisis and Emergency Situations with Confidence.
• Comply with carrying out other duties reasonably requested from the customer or line manager

Essential Skills

• SIA Licence
• Right to work in the UK and a 5-year checkable history
• Driving licence and access to own vehicle
• Minimum 1 year security experience
