Job Title: Self-employed Personal Assistant

Hours/shift:16 hours per week, Mon-Sun, times to be discussed at interview
Summary
I am a vibrant and independent 78-year-old, looking for a self-employed pa to provide me with assistance so I can continue to live in my own home.
The role will involve supporting me with showering & dressing, domestic tasks, preparing food & drinks, accompany me to doctor and hospital appointments and supporting me with paperwork.
Other Requirements
• "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9."
• Must be comfortable with pets
• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.
• Must have a UK driving licence
• Must have access to own vehicle

Description
Typical duties
Domestic:
Laundry: Washing, drying, ironing and putting away
Changing bed linen/ bed making
General cleaning and tidying
Taking out rubbish
Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Shopping
Pet care
Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork
Making phone calls on my behalf
Personal Care:
Supervision and/or assistance with washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required.
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Assistance with medication i.e. dispensing, administering and/or prompting
Any other reasonable
Social:
Going to the shops on behalf of the employer for essential when needed bread etc.
Accompany me to hospital and doctor appointments.
Any other reasonable task

The successful applicant will be:
Female due to personal care needs
Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
Reliable with good time-keeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
