TeacherActive are working with Special Schools across Leeds and I am in need of a SEMH experienced Teacher / Social and Emotional Mental Health needsTeacher to provide long-term cover starting as soon as possible. This setting caters for students between 5-19, as well as offering lessons to students of different abilities all with SEMH requirements.

This is a valuable opportunity to extend your SEND/SEMH experience and help make a difference in these young people’s lives. I am an experienced and dedicated SEND Consultant that will be choosing placements that suit your availability, preference, and skills to find the right fit for you.
The right SEND Teacher / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teacher will have the following:
- Qualified Teacher Status, 6 months previous SEND experience
- Flexible and able to cover classes last minute to cover for staff sickness or training
- Lessons will often be pre-planned, however, ideally capable of planning your own lesson activities and resources
- Further training such as Team-Teach is desired
- Adapting tasks to meet the needs of individual children
- Effective behaviour management skills
- Effective communication with members of internal staff, including SENCO
