Axcis Education are working with a high school based in Congleton to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
The role is based within the school's resource base working with pupils aged 11-16years. The role is supporting both 1:1 and small groups with ASD/ADHD students as well as students who present with SEMH needs and speech and Language needs.
The school is based in Congleton with a high school, sixth form and resource base on the school grounds. The co-educational secondary school with academy status was rated "Good" on their last inspection. The staffing team in the resource base provide support for students with special learning needs, ensuring that they are supported across the curriculum to be able to access, enjoy and progress effectively in their lessons, alongside their peers.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience working with SEN. This could be through working in schools, specialist groups, youth work or personal experience. The hours are 08.30-15.30, Monday to Friday, term time only. The daily rate of pay is 88-91 depending on experience. Qualifications are not compulsory but would be advantages for your application. You must have a child and adult DBS registered on the update service or be able to get one in to process. On top of this, if you have lived/worked abroad for more than 6 months within the last 5 years, you will require an overseas police check from that country.
