- Salary: £31,350 - £46,179 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus*
Reed Education is seeking a dedicated Music and Performing Arts Teacher to deliver high-quality education to students aged 11 – 16 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism. This role is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a significant impact on our students’ lives.
Day to Day of the role:- Deliver and develop the Music and Performing Arts curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including therapy staff to support student development.
- Utilise short, medium, and long-term plans to deliver an effective curriculum.
- Set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise learning for each student.
- Assess, review, and report on student progress to parents, team members, and relevant bodies.
- Develop lesson plans with a reflective approach to teaching outcomes.
- Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
- Provide structured lessons with maintained pace, motivation, and challenge.
- Stay informed on current issues in the field of autism to plan effective teaching and learning.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Ability to teach Music and Performing Arts up to GCSE level.
- Knowledge and experience with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profile students.
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Experience managing a range of behavioural approaches, including challenging behaviours.
