Outreach Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only
Salary: £21,778 - £22,107 (pro rata)
Location: Greenwich
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Outreach Teaching Assistant to join our team, working with pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on children’s lives by providing support.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Model effective behaviour management strategies, teaching pupils on a 1:1 basis, within small groups, or in a whole class setting.
- Participate in strategy meetings with senior school colleagues and other agency professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Engage with parents and cooperate with key professionals to support the children’s educational and emotional needs.
- Provide hands-on support and professional advice to mainstream schools, helping to remove social and emotional barriers to learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with children with SEMH difficulties.
Excellent people skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.
A clean and valid driver’s licence and access to a car (a car user allowance is payable).
A commitment to professional development and a willingness to engage in a comprehensive CPD programme.
