About the role - Teaching assistant

I am currently working with this secondary school based in Newham who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident and comfortable working 1:1 with a secondary aged student that has Autism. The ideal Teaching Assistant will be caring, dedicated and committed; confident in supporting the child’s needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will be able to build rapport well and become an excellent role model.

This oversubscribed, good mainstream secondary school based in the heart of Newham cater to students between the ages 11 and 16 with a SLCN and ASD unit in place to support students with SEN needs. The school have a reputation for looking after staff where a number of schemes in place to support a better work life balance, the school support each member of staff with a lower than average teaching loads where each teacher is treated as a specialist therefore isn’t required to teach cover lessons outside of their subject specialisms. Each teacher is given efficient time to do their job properly including co-planning sessions throughout the week to make planning and marking more time efficient allowing teacher to focus on other aspects on teaching and learning.
