As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Prepare a range of learning materials that can be adapted to each students learning needs
- Look after and develop students physical, social and emotional welfare
- Create an interesting and stimulating environment
- Work collaboratively with your colleagues and other professionals such as speech and language therapists
- Working one-to-one with certain students and taking small groups of students out to complete activities
- Provide support to the class teacher with keeping records up to date and providing information needed based on progress of each child
- Communicate effectively with parents and professionals, sharing information as required with internal and external agencies to support pupils
- Use a variety of communication aids with students
- Maintain a safe working environment – Managing challenging behaviour when situations arise
- Working with pupils on therapy or care programmes, with the support of relevant professionals according to students needs
- Have a general understanding of ECHP’s for students in order to support their additional needs thoroughly
The school are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification as a minimum, that relates to the role. With a specific Resourced Provision for students with special educational needs, the school provide high quality teaching utilising a range of resources and technology. It is important to the school that students are given the opportunity to access education within the mainstream classroom therefore, it is important that they are fully included in school life. The school is based on the outskirts of Bradford city centre, towards Heaton, making it easily accessible for all applying candidates.

The successful candidate must have:
- Qualifications relating to the role, ideally Level 3 or above
- Experience working with people with learning difficulties
- An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service
- Two suitable references covering the past two years
