The Opportunity
You’re an experienced Cricket Coach who would relish the opportunity to coach high quality, fun and engaging cricket lessons and clubs in Primary Schools, to inspire children to lead active, healthy and happy lifestyles.
Day-to-day you’ll be leading cricket-based curriculum and extra-curricular sessions to classes of up to 30 children from a various year groups, abilities and backgrounds. You’ll mainly be working alongside a second coach and together will be responsible for pupil safety, behaviour and of course, enjoyment! With no two days the same in this role, you’ll embrace adapting to different schools and working with a wide range of children, school staff and fellow coaches.
As a Cricket Coach you are passionate, dedicated and resilient. You’ll be motivated by the challenges that come with managing large groups of children effectively and you’ll be rewarded with the progress they make week-on-week. What’s important to you is the ability to make a difference to the lives of those you coach, as well as the varied nature of the job. Ongoing training will be offered to support you to strive for excellence within the role. You’ll learn and develop within a broader team of experienced coaches and sports development practitioners.
Responsibilities:
- To plan and deliver high quality and engaging lunch clubs, cricket lessons and after-school clubs, in Primary Schools.
- To inspire children to lead an active, healthy, happy lifestyle.
- Maintain the health and safety of those involved in your sessions.
- To work with and support our Community Coaches and Head Coaches.
- To monitor and evaluate sessions to improve the quality and impact.
- To communicate regularly and effectively with coaches and colleagues.
- To upskill primary school staff to develop their confidence in delivering cricket.
- Establish positive relationships with children, their parents and staff in schools, day in, day out.
- Support the broader work of Bristol Sport Foundation (e.g. administration tasks and events).
The Key Requirements:
- Hold a Level 2 Cricket coaching qualification (or equivalent).
- A full, clean UK driving license and your own car.
- The right to work in the UK.
- Experience of coaching children in schools.
- A passion for inspiring children to be active, healthy and happy.
- To uphold professional standards and a can-do attitude.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, to build successful relationships with participants, parents and coaches.
- Time management.
- Proficient in Microsoft MS Office: Outlook, Word and Excel.
Please note: as this role involves working with young people, the successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS Check.
