THE ROLE
Do you have a strong desire to change the lives of students? We're seeking a dedicated and empathic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team, focusing on providing outstanding additional support for students with various learning disabilities. There are a variety of students who require additional support, some conditions include but are not limited to:
- Non-Verbal / Speech Delay
- Visual Impairment
- Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Creating Bonds: Establish yourself as a mentor and companion, constructing positive and trustworthy connections with students. Foster a secure and nurturing environment that allows them to flourish.
- Team Member: Communication is key! Collaborate seamlessly with teachers, colleagues and parents to ensure a holistic support system for each student.
- Tailored Guidance: Be the driving force behind individualized support, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of students facing behavioural challenges.
- Ambassador of Inclusivity: Cultivate a feeling of belonging by advocating for the inclusion of students in the broader classroom community. Assist in fostering their social interactions and enable them to excel in group activities
- Plan Implementation: Take the lead in implementing individualized EHC plans, contributing to the success and progress of our students.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
ü Possess effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with teachers, parents, and professionals, ensuring a complete holistic support system for students.
ü Approach interactions with empathy and demonstrating unwavering patience. Show an understanding of what learning difficulties pupils face in a classroom setting.
ü Adjusting strategies to meet the evolving needs of students and welcome change where needed.
ü Exhibit patience, resilience, and constructive behaviour, serving as an inspiring example for students.
ü Thrive in a team environment and actively contributing to discussions and the development of support plans.
ü Anticipate challenges, identify triggers, and proactively implement strategies to foster a positive learning experience and a supportive atmosphere.
ü While prior experience with SEN students is preferred, it is not essential, as long as you have a strong passion to work with pupils with SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS. We also encourage applicants from a HEALTHCARE / COACHING background
