In September 2023, we were proud to join the Harris Federation, which runs over 52 successful primary and secondary schools in and around London. Every Harris academy inspected by Ofsted is rated 'good' or 'outstanding', with the majority rated 'outstanding'. GCSE results in the Harris Federation are the best in the country for how much student progress from their starting point in Year 7.
Main Areas of ResponsibilityYour responsibilities will include:
- Managing the SEND register and the update of One Page Profiles & EHCPs under the direction from the SENDCo
- Analysing attendance, attainment and behaviour data of SEND students and reading test and SEND screening data
- Supporting with follow up SEND testing, access arrangement testing and applications for further assessment and EHCP applications
- Keeping minutes of all SEND team meetings
- Managing ordering of all necessary resources for the SEND department
- Filing all paperwork pertaining to SEND students
- Organising the timetables of SEND students receiving support from external agencies (e.g. SALT, Visual Impairment service)
- Organising LSA timetables
- Ensuring that all necessary paperwork for SEND requirements is accessible to relevant staff
- Ensuring all communication with external stakeholders is completed accurately and on time
- Organising marketing and/or catering required for events
- Assisting the SENDCo with SEN data analysis
- Supporting in the preparation for annual reviews
- Assisting the SENDCo to create Annual Review and High Needs funding packs
- Sending a weekly bulletin to SLT and the SEN team summarising key issues and actions regarding SEN students
- Administering student passes such as sensory break passes, Aspire lunch passes
- Managing queries from parents/ carers and the general public with exemplary professionalism
- Ensuring that the SENDCo is fully briefed on any matters raised via parental communication with the Academy
- Working with individual students as directed by the SENDCo, such as organisational mentoring.
- Liaising with parents are required, including supporting year team leaders or SLT with phone calls home
- Supporting in the administration of learning walks
- Liaising with year team leaders in putting together individual support plans for students of concern
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- GCSE mathematics and English at grade C or above and relevant level 3 qualification
- Trained in the use of a variety of ICT packages
- Knowledge of procedures for entering data on a central management information system
- Basic training on Management Information Systems
- At least a year's experience working in school or educational establishment
- Experience of working in an inner city school
